2023 Highlights: June is Here!

Our beautiful spring weather continues! Though we are all a little nervous that this will be a precursor to yet another drought, I do still enjoy the warmth and sun.

Winnie the dog continues to be…high energy. We are hopeful that her puppy nipping is decreasing and she is generally doing really well with leash walking. The girls are getting more used to her too and how to deal with all of her energy.

Peter was away for 2 nights last week with his job, something that doesn’t happen very much. A reminder of how fortunate we are to have him home in the regular.

Having Winnie was a mixed blessing while Peter was gone. It definitely added more work to my daily routine on top of solo parenting. But I also appreciated her presence at night without him.

A couple of pictures I took this week of Pearl reading. It still kind of blows my mind that she can read chapter books on her own.

And it’s June so I’m doing my semi-annual 30 Day Dress challenge where I try to wear a dress everyday and attempt to wear the plethora of dresses I own.

I feel like you can also see my bathroom get progressively messier after I cleaned it on Thursday. (Next week I will try to take some photos that are not bathroom selfies!)

  1. It does look like you’re having beautiful weather! We’re having lovely early summer weather here, too – sunny but not too hot, around 20-21C. Hopefully we will avoid a drought this year because it rained constantly throughout March and April.

  2. Did you say that you guys are taking Winnie to a dog training program? I’ve heard the clicker training works really well, so if she’s food motivated, that could be a great way to get her to stop nipping. I love that picture of Winnie going for a walk and she’s got the stick in her mouth. ☺️

    1. We are! It’s not clicker training but sort of similar. She likes food but I’m now realizing that she’s more attention motivated than food motivated. She’ll often pick up sticks or pine cones or large flower petals while we’re walking and carry them for a little ways and it always makes us laugh!
