The other weekend, temperatures reached in the high 20s and it really did feel like summer was around the corner. This past week though has been cooler and a little rainy but we’re still gearing up for summer. One more week of school while other activities have finished up. Lots of field trips and outdoor days. Beaches, farms, trails, and parks are all easily accessible from the school so these are frequent outings for both girls right now. They also both had their first off-Coast field trips in May, which involved ferry rides to Vancouver.

May was very busy for us – lots of extra things going on both at school and at work. Our girls were a bit more heavily scheduled after spring break than we generally like but we made it through and are looking forward to our very unscheduled summertime.

We finished May off with a quick trip to the city to celebrate my parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary!

Winnie continues to live a great dog life. She particularly enjoyed training for a half-marathon along with Peter although she was not invited to the actual event.

Four more days of school and then most of our household is on summer holiday! Here’s hoping the sun makes another appearance!
Wow, 50 years! My folks are celebrating their 44th wedding anniversary today, and I know you and I are (or are around) the same age. My folks got married at 19 and 21 and then had my brother and in in just the next couple of years.
My parents were 21 and 23 but my brother wasn’t born until 1982 so they had a good stretch of marriage before parenthood. Your parents are pretty young!
