I really thought this was going to be our week to get back into routine, to recover from the busy-ness of recent weeks. Alas, it was not to be. After months of good health last year (thanks social distancing and hand washing!), this seems to be our year of catching everything. Don’t get me wrong, we’re still social distancing and washing hands and wearing masks, but we also have kids. Both girls came down with a cold early in the week, which resulted in a couple of sick days and we are still getting our groove back. But today is Saturday and sunny and we have nothing planned for the day. I can’t tell you how exciting that is.
In fact, my big excitements for the day so far have been 1) A long, hot, uninterrupted shower (a Saturday luxury) and 2) trying out our new vacuum. So I’m officially a middle-aged mom, I guess.
There is also a lot of excitement around here for Halloween tomorrow. Pearl got to dress up for school yesterday so, of course, Rose had to as well. Today we are making pumpkin scones, doing Halloween crafts and making all our plans for the big day tomorrow.
Elsa and Ariel
Hope the ghosts don’t get you while you’re out trick and treating! Mind you, the ghosts are nicer than the ghouls… 👻🎃
Oh, goodness, your two favorite things this week made me laugh. You are a lovely middle-age mom! 😀
I live in an apartment complex with tons of kids, but for some reason they’re not allowed to trick-or-treat in the area? It might be because each apartment has a main door through which you must be buzzed. I ended up watching Halloween way too late at night (I fell asleep well after midnight), so now I’m reading blog posts and chugging coffee!
I’ve always wondered how kids in apartment buildings do it. On the one hand, it seems perfect since you can visit a lot of homes without even going outside but then is it as easy to tell who is participating or not?
Pearl’s class is having a PJ day and watching a movie so that’s what Rose and I are doing at home today too!
Does Pearl ever get annoyed that Rose wants to do the same things, or is Pearl happy about it?
Sometimes but not a lot. They both still love to match outfits and do the same things at the same time and so far Pearl is always happy to have Rose join in with her and her friends.
Awww, that’s so nice 🙂
