How cool are my kids?
I was going to say that it’s been a busy few weeks but I think that’s just our life. And it’s a good life, so I’m definitely not complaining.
Easter felt full and busy after the quiet celebrations of the last two years. Easter is really the central celebration of our Christian faith and this year we were able to meet with others again. We visited an Anglican Church in the next community for Good Friday service and Easter Sunday. On the Friday, after church, we explored a new hike and found a beautiful spot for a picnic.

Pearl and Rose’s favourite Easter tradition is easily our family backyard hunt. So we had it first thing in the morning on Sunday because we went straight from church to our friends for lunch and…another Easter hunt!

The following weekend we went into Vancouver to celebrate my dad’s 70th birthday and my brother’s 40th. And to have a third Easter hunt with the big cousins!
With some free time on Saturday, my dad suggested taking the girls to ride the SkyTrain. Such a simple activity but such fun for our small town kids!

Other than our weekend adventures, life goes on. Library visits, swim lessons, dinners with friends, navigating protocol around childhood head colds. You know, life in 2022.

Three Easter Egg hunts!! That’s far too many! Tell the girls to send their excess eggs to me for – ahem – safe-keeping… 😉
It’s far too many! I am doing my best to help them out!
The thing I love most about pictures of kids is all their wee accessories. I’m looking and saying, “Look at her tiny purse! Look at the little umbrella and those booties!” lol.
You look so serious — or maybe sad? — in your picture. Everything okay? I’m looking forward to the dress challenge coming up.
I think I took that picture on a day when both girls were home sick – so more tired than anything else. Thank you for asking.
You have a great memory! It’s been too cold here for dresses and I haven’t even brought out any of my warm weather clothes but I’m looking forward to that too.
I have two events that I always look forward to in the blogging world: Anne’s Christmas book videos and your dress challenge.
That is high praise indeed! I am hoping to include some of my girls’ excellent dress fashion too this time around!
Really?! Yay!
I’m glad you were able to be with people in person again on Easter Sunday – I was able to go to my new church and then had a friend round for lunch, both of which still feel pretty remarkable to me after the past two years. And that looks like a beautiful hike!
That sounds like a lovely way to spend the day. It does feel pretty remarkable to do these things, doesn’t it?
